1. Who we are

LinX is operated by Darren Ethier, Sole Proprietor, of Barrie, Ontario, Canada. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): we collect only what the service needs, we tell you why, and we protect it.

2. What we collect

When you post a job: your name, email, phone number, and the job details you enter (title, trade, description, location, budget, urgency).

When you sign up as a contractor: your name, business name, email, phone number, trade, and service area.

Automatically: basic technical data such as pages visited and device type, used to keep the site working and improve it.

3. How we use it

We use your information to operate the marketplace: matching jobs with contractors, delivering lead notifications (including SMS for contractor plans), processing subscriptions, and contacting you about your job or account. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Who processes it

Payments are processed by Stripe — your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by LinX. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Where services are involved, your information is handled under their own privacy policies and security controls.

5. Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may withdraw your consent to marketing or non-essential communications at any time. To make a request, contact [email protected] — we will respond within 30 days.

6. Retention & security

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations, then delete it. We use industry-standard safeguards (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect it, though no system is perfectly secure.
